About the Item

Sake Bottle W80-90mm, H130mm Sake Cup W50-60mm, H45-60mm *Please note that measurements are approximate due to the handmade nature of the items. This is a Bizen ware sake set made by an artist. This set includes 10 items: four sake bottles and six sake cups. Bizen ware is an ancient Japanese ceramic art with a history spanning over 800 years. Many artists continue to carry on the tradition today. Bizen ware is made using the "yakishime" technique, which does not use any glaze, and is characterized by its rustic character, which brings out the natural earthiness of the clay. It is fired at high temperatures of 1200-1300°C for several days to a dozen days, resulting in high strength and excellent heat and cold retention. The patterns known as "yohen" (kiln changes) are created by the way the flames, ash, and charcoal hit the pot in the kiln. Each piece is unique and charming, unique to each piece. This item shows no signs of use, making it a deadstock item. Because this pottery is closer to earth, it may have an earthen smell when filled with warm water. This can be softened by boiling. For more information, please research how to use Bizen ware. Unlike porcelain, there are many differences. Each piece comes with its own box, but of the six sake cups, the one in the upper right of the photo may have a different box and contents. Bizen ware is characterized by its signature, so we cannot be certain, but please understand. ▲▲ Notes ▲▲ *In order to build a relationship of trust with our customers, please be sure to contact us via the inquiry form before purchasing.
