In this magnificent piece of exceptional beauty and perfection, the artist has applied a multiple layering of glazes to create a vision of the mountains that surround his hometown of Arita. The mountains expressed in a brilliant bluish hue are made to stand out from the deep brown/black background by a shimmering band of mist above and below, drawing on the eerie luminescence of zirconium that has been ground into the glaze.
