About the Item

Exceptional museum-quality Japanese contemporary decorative porcelain vase, extremely intricately hand-painted in stunning cream, red, blue and black, a mesmerizing signed masterpiece by highly acclaimed master porcelain artist of the Imari-Arita region of Japan and recipient of numerous awards for his exceptional application of gold and platinum on porcelain. The artist's profile is available upon request. This exquisite vase in a stunning dream-like color born by merging striking red, blue, black and cream colors, and showcases a dense mosaic of extremely intricate turtle pattern created by finely drawn lines of gold. Small cranes in flight appear all across the body of the vase. This produces a stunning dream-like illusion of a “transparent” canvas on which auspicious dramatic cranes gracefully in flight appear to be floating. The same intricate pattern continues, to decorate the back of the vase with the artist’s signature in the center. To add to the elegance of the whole piece, the base and neck are decorated in a rich palette of dark green and black, enhanced by a generous use of gold. The inner side of the neck showcases cranes in flight, set against a pure white background. This artist's exclusive signature style highlights unique techniques for incorporating gold and platinum into the hand painting and multiple firing processes that yield a stunningly opulent look. The polychrome overglaze is fired at 800 degrees, followed by the application of gold and platinum that are fired at slightly lower temperature to maintain the luster of the precious metals. As a result, a single piece may undergo as many as five-ten firings. The artist's profile is available upon request. This breathtaking porcelain vase comes in a custom made wooden case signed by the artist. Dimensions: H 9.5 in D 7 in
