About the Item

Sculpted Stoneware Espresso Cup by Audrey Vo Van This one-of-a-kind espresso cup is wheel-thrown in stoneware, then meticulously hand-carved using a kurinuki-inspired technique. Each facet is shaped to reveal a raw, architectural expression : a dialogue between sharp edges, softened erosion, and the natural irregularities of clay. The piece is finished with a subtle vanilla glaze, whose warm, creamy tones gently flow over the textured surface, catching light on the reliefs and enhancing the interplay between matte and glossy areas. The variations in tone and touch make the cup feel both intimate and sculptural. Audrey Vo Van’s artistic practice explores the memory of landscapes and the traces left by time. Inspired by organic formations and modern minimalism, she creates pieces that invite a deeper sensory connection : objects to be held, contemplated, and lived with. Each work embodies a moment of stillness, where material and gesture come together in harmony. Signed by the artist. Unique piece.
