About the Item

This impressive large antique Imari porcelain plate dates to the late Edo–Meiji period (19th century) and is finely decorated with a lively composition of playful shishi (mythical lion-dogs) and blooming botan (peony) motifs. The dynamic imagery, combined with the generous scale of the plate, makes it a rare and highly attractive example of Japanese Imari ware. The piece remains in excellent original condition, showing only minor surface abrasions consistent with age. Typical kiln imperfections from the period can be observed, further attesting to its authenticity and traditional firing process. Dimensions: Diameter: 41 cm; Height: 5 cm (Diameter: 16.1 in; Height: 2 in) Weight: 2.8 kg (6.2 lb) Condition: Good original condition with minor wear and kiln imperfections visible in the photographs. ⸻ International Buyers — Please Note: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping costs.
