This substantial piece displays the rich cobalt blue, iron red, and gilt palette associated with high quality Imari porcelain, with decoration carried through to the reverse as well, a detail often seen on finer examples.
The scale and strong decorative presence make this charger ideal for display on a wall, shelf, or as a centerpiece on a table or console. The porcelain presents very well and remains in very good condition for its age, with only the most minimal age appropriate wear. A striking and collectible example of late 19th century Japanese Imari.
