Late 20th Century pair of Famille Rose porcelain Chinese palace vases. A beautiful and large pair of vases, with alternating reserves of figures showing the Chinese culture and stories. The reserves are surrounded by amazing floral borders with salamanders foo dogs at the top.
Famille Rose porcelain emerged during the Qing Dynasty,
gaining prominence in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is
characterized by its delicate enamel colors, including a
distinctive pink derived from colloidal gold. The Rose Medallion
pattern, a subset of Famille Rose, typically features alternating
panels of figures, birds, flowers, and insects.
These vases exemplify the elaborate decoration and vibrant
color palette associated with Famille Rose. The scenes depicted
often reflect traditional Chinese life, mythology, or auspicious
symbols. The presence of dragon or foo dog handles further
enhances their decorative appeal. Such vases were often
commissioned for imperial use or as gifts for high-ranking
