About the Item

This exquisite pair of late 19th century Chinese porcelain covered bowls showcases the refined artistry of the Qing Dynasty, finely hand-painted in vibrant famille rose enamels depicting playful children in an outdoor setting. Each bowl is decorated with vivid tones of green, pink, blue, and orange, illustrating the joyful “Hundred Boys” theme—a traditional Chinese symbol of happiness, prosperity, and good fortune. Both bowls include their original matching lids, each bearing a red four-character mark on the top and a matching four-character mark on the underside of the bowl. The enamel workmanship is of excellent quality, with carefully rendered figures and rich color depth typical of late Qing craftsmanship. The condition of both pieces is nearly excellent, with only minimal paint wear consistent with age, and no cracks, chips, or restorations observed. The enamel colors remain bright and well-preserved, and both bowls are structurally sound and display beautifully. These elegant covered bowls are a fine example of late 19th century Chinese famille rose porcelain, ideal for collectors of Qing Dynasty ceramics, Chinese export art, or antique hand-painted porcelain.
