About the Item
In this listing you will find a pair of Antique Foo dogs done in. black painted ceramics. At a closer look, the figurines show the remaining of the gold plating - the specks of 24K gold, showing to us that the pieces were ones entirely covered in gold. This is a rather rare situation in case of Foo dogs, which makes us conclude these were made for a high ranking client. Detailed images showing traces of gold are shown bellow. Made in China in the 19th century.
The figurines are in overall good antique condition with some signs of time, such as small chips.
