About the Item

This charming porcelain dish dates to the early 20th century and is decorated with colorful overglaze enamels in the famille rose style. Likely used as a serving dish for ritual food offerings, the small bowl has a quatrefoil form reminiscent of a cloud, with gently upturned sides and a short footed base. The dish is loosely decorated with abstract florals and a central vignette of peach blossoms, a motif for love, immortality and springtime.
