About the Item

All six bowls are raised on a circular foot and richly decorated with hand painted enamels depicting floral designs in an Imari palette of cobalt, vermillion gilt, against alternating panels of cobalt white beneath gilt latticework. Each bowl is fitted with an overlapping lid with a raised circular knop centred by hand painted enamel gilt marks for Arita Hizen. The bowls undersides are decorated with a repeating band of geometric lappet motifs in cobalt blue, one centred with Arita chop marks. Dimensions, 2.5” high (3.75” with lids) x 4.75 diameter (5.25” with lids).
