A very large Chinese Rose Medallion porcelain washbasin or bowl.
In the Rose Medallion (Famille Rose) style.
The central cartouche of the bowl depicts a court scene.
The interior walls of the bowl have 6 cartouches with 4 court scenes and two scenes of birds
flowers.
The exterior walls of the bowl with pink rose floral sprays on a white ground.
The bowl's rim is decorated with elaborate handpainted green vines, flowers, insects, and colorful bats (bats represent good fortune in Chinese culture - the word for bat '蝠' and the word for good fortune '福' are homophones) with cartouches containing birds on a thick gilt border.

It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
There is some rubbing to the paint and gilt decoration principally to the center of the basin, and some light rubbing to the gilding here and there throughout. Otherwise, there are some fine
light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
