About the Item
A beautiful and highly coveted large finely glazed ceramic ash tray/ low bowl by famed Japanese Pop artist Yoshitomo Nara (奈良 美智, 1959- ) titled "Too Young To Die". The wonderful image is transfer-printed on to porcelain.
The artist's stamped signature and copyright are printed on the underside and was produced by Bozart.
Nara's artwork has been exhibited extensively both and home in Japan and abroad. He has had nearly 40 solo exhibitions since 1984 and his art work has been housed at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).
The work was produced in an unknown limited quantity and has long since sold out. It has become quite a collector's piece.
A rare and scarce piece in fine vintage condition. Would be a great addition to any Yoshitomo Nara or Japanese art collection or make for and eye catching stand alone accent artwork in about any setting.
