About the Item

A Japanese display stand crafted from lauan wood, dating from the 1940s–1950s. The piece has the presence of a small architectural structure, with a quiet, sculptural quality that adds depth to its surroundings. A hinged door at the front opens to reveal a compact storage compartment, useful for keeping small items concealed. The door can also be positioned at the back when displaying the stand, creating the impression of a hidden storage element. Made from thin, lightweight lauan panels, the stand is easy to move and adapt to different settings. Its surface has developed a warm, deepened character over time, giving the piece a subdued richness that complements both traditional and contemporary interiors. Additional antique furniture and decorative objects sourced from across Japan are also available upon request.
