About the Item

The Spindle Crest is an antique accent chair crafted in the late 19th century, likely between 1885 and 1895, during a period shaped by the Eastlake and Aesthetic movements. The pierced geometric crest, incised linework, and tapered central splat reflect the ornamental vocabulary of this era, while the hand-turned legs and curved arms show the work of an artisan maker. The hardwood frame retains a warm, time-softened patina that speaks to more than a century of careful preservation. The underside construction, including hand-drilled tack holes and traditional joinery, further supports its 19th-century origin. The seat is newly upholstered in Glant designer fabric that adds a refined neutral tone and a contemporary touch. Scaled for versatility, The Spindle Crest offers elegant accent seating for an entryway, bedroom, or thoughtfully curated interior.
