About the Item

These 19th century cypress chairs with gently curved crest rails and undulating aprons were created by the age-old process of soaking, bending, and heating the wood to form it into the shape desired. The bent form legs wrap the top of the seat continuously. Cypress is respected for its smooth, tight grain and natural blonde color, and it suits the mellow mood of these chairs beautifully. They have an inimitable level of warmth and softness only achieved from over a century of use. Additional dimensions: Seat height 18".
