Food offering vessel, Ok-Kwet Burma Early 20th century Bamboo, lacquer Measures: H: 11 in x D: 11 in :: 28 cm x 28 cm The black lacquered exterior and red interior Ok-Kwet, consists of ribbed base. Traditionally the stupa shaped vessel was used to present food as an offering to the monk and to monasteries. The four layers held varied edibles and the top cover may have been used to hold water.
