A distinctive pair of Japanese black lacquer ikebana flower troughs. The two sections, designed in harmony, allow a generous opportunity for creative arrangement. For those times when you are not happily creating flowery totems they would serve beautifully to display precious objects or an array of shared bowls at your next dinner party. Glamorous servants, willing to please. With original wooden storage box, and carrying the signature of the Grand Master and founder of the Sogetsu Flower School, Teshigahara Sofu (b 1900, d 1979) on both the base as pictured and on the storage box as well. The dimensions are as follows: Larger trough H 7cm x W 64cm x D 32cm Smaller trough H 7cm x W 55cm x D 27.5cm Original box H 17cm x W 64cm x D 17cm.
