This superb Japanese footed lacquer tray dates to the late Edo–Meiji period (19th century) and is finely decorated with an elegant maki-e design. The refined composition and subtle use of lacquer and gold powder reflect the high level of craftsmanship associated with Japanese lacquerware of this era.
The tray is accompanied by its original signed wooden storage box (tomobako), adding to its authenticity and collectible value.
