About the Item

An antique Japanese late Meiji era decorative enamel over copper plate. The interior of the plate is adorned with a polychrome image of sparrows on the yellow ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The border features floral and foliage patterns made in the same technique. The backside is decorated with a foliate scroll ornament on a turquoise ground made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked. Circa: the late 19th century. Dimensions: D 12 in. All measurements are approximate. Condition Overall good vintage condition. Signs of age and wear. There are enamel chunks missing on the back side. Small piece on enamel missing on the front. Refer to photos.
