About the Item

An antique Japanese, late Meiji era, covered enamel over brass jewelry or trinket box. The body of the ware is enameled with floral and foliage motifs made in the Cloisonne technique. The cover features a polychrome enamel design depicting a bird and a butterfly in blossoming flowers made in the Cloisonne technique. The borders are adorned with a scaly ornament. Unmarked. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. Antique and Vintage Asian and Oriental Table Wares, Vanity Accessories, Home Decor, and Collectibles. Dimensions: H 3 in. D 6 1/8 in. All measurements are approximate. Condition Overall good vintage condition. Signs of age and wear. Some craquelures on the lid. Refer to photos.
