About the Item
Antique Japanese Meiji period cloisonne enamel plate featuring a striking sky blue central panel decorated with cranes, small birds, reeds and flowering plants. The scene is finely detailed, with elegant gold and multicolor enamel work throughout.
The wide border is richly decorated with alternating floral cartouches, scrollwork and geometric patterning typical of high quality Meiji period craftsmanship. The colors remain vibrant and the enamel surface presents beautifully.
