About the Item

A high quality antique Japanese, late Meiji era, enamel plate. The interior of the plate is adorned with a polychrome enamel image of a case with autumn leaves and Chrusantemum flowers on the black ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The borders are decorated with floral and foliage patterns made in the same technique. The backside is decorated with a foliate scroll motif on the turquoise ground made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked. Circa: the late 19th century. OVERALL GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION. SIGNS OF WEAR AND AGE. REFER TO PHOTOS. D 10 7/8 IN. ALL MEASUREMENTS ARE APPROXIMATE.
