About the Item

This is an old rubber glove mold made in Japan. It was made in the Showa period (1940s-1960s), and the material used is aluminum. Although it is a practical item that has been used for a long time in industrial settings, the surface of the glove bears the marks of time spent in use, giving it a deep flavor and presence. Although it has already fulfilled its original functional role, it is now sublimated as an art piece in its own right. The inorganic yet human-like form is somehow poetic and stimulates the viewer's imagination. The spirit of the Japanese “wabi-sabi” spirit lives on in these hand molds, reminding us of the perspective that sees the passage of time and traces of use as beauty. Just by adding one of these pieces to your space, an industrial and quiet beauty will unfold. Weight: 1kg ____________________________________________ Our Philosophy Objects always tell the truth. All I can do is just to face with them sincerely and give them deep affection as much as I can. There is no boundary of nationalities and of eras in beauty. But I think now is the time we choose 'Japanese style' and it will be the best way to remind us of what we are losing today and to question us about an essence of beauty again. I hope that you can touch the memories which the objects here have, feel and think of something invisible but exists undoubtedly.
