Fine and rare Japanese Komainu cloisonne enamel vase Tashio-early Showa period. The vase of ovoid form decorated in an off white enamel glaze with a boldly coloured temple dog to the centre in a mix of musen-jippo (wireless cloisonne) and yusen (wired). The temple dog standing upon a matching base with simulated mist surrounding the it. Signed on the bottom to the centre with the Shobido of Osaka company mark, the vase mounted on a white metal plated rim. A fine cloisonne vase suited to any contemporary room, avid Japanese cloisonne collector or someone looking for a single statement piece.
