About the Item

A pair of large Chinese 19th century famille rose planters. These jardinieres feature reserves of floral and bird design, surrounded by turquoise blue ground. Hand molded rims roll over a pink geometric band above lattice, with meandering tendrils over the body, and large reserves with design of auspicious avian landscapes. Other design elements include cherry blossoms, peonies, and chrysanthemums. The bases are unglazed and unmarked.
