About the Item

Folding screen Material: Paper, wooden frame 1 piece: Width 580 x Height 1710 x Depth 20 mm Expanded size: Width 3500 mm Folded size: Width 600 x Height 1710 x Depth 105 mm, weight 13 kg Packaging (5-10 mm thick plywood sandwiched): 17 cm x 67 cm x 181 cm, weight 26 kg A folding screen with a typical Japanese painting composition. The base appears to be covered with chalk(Gohun). While the base is beautiful, there are some areas with slight staining. There is some peeling of the base color at the fold. The artist is Kayama Taisen(香山太宣), a painter from Nagano Prefecture. As this is an old piece, there may be some wear and tear, so please check the photos for details. *Please handle folding screens with care as the joints are prone to weakening. It is a special technique in which the folding screen is connected with paper instead of hinges. The outermost backing paper is easily sunburned. ▲▲ Notes ▲▲ *In order to build a relationship of trust with our customers, please be sure to contact us via the inquiry form before purchasing.
