Exceptional 20th century Chinese export six panel coromandel screen featuring a busy idyllic courtyard scene with a dramatic gilt background. The screen has six panels lacquered and incised with natural color pigments and gilt. The scene depicts figures engaged in leisurely activities amid pagodas and trees. Each panel is supported by square legs ending with patinated brass feet. The screen has a desirable aged patina to commensurate its age and use. From an estate in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.
