He continued to innovate Japanese painting on the front lines for the three generations of the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras.
A member of the jury for the exhibition, a member of the Imperial Arts Center, and a member of the Imperial Art Academy.
Received the Asahi Cultural Award. Cultural Meritor. Received the Order of Culture.
In 1958, he was 90 years old.
