About the Item

An unusual four-panel folding screen depicting a majestic white peacock and a flowering cherry tree, painted on paper with gold powder ground. The scene shows the peacock, rendered with great precision, displaying its fully spread tail, while on the right the blooming branches of the cherry tree extend across the surface. Lacquered wood frame with metal corner fittings. Signed Yukihiko Kurihara at the lower right. Period: Shōwa, mid-20th century Dimensions: 185 × 366 cm Condition: The screen is in excellent condition. Minor wear, restorations, or small imperfections consistent with age may be present.
