Tall four panel screen with stunning antique Chinese handpainted wallpaper applied to the front.
Handpainted wallpapers such as these were created for export, beginning in the 18th century. This design features flowering trees and birds in color on a neutral background.
The screen has French canvas hinges, and the design continues from panel to panel. The back is simple, with a wood grid construction.
The wallpaper is beautiful for it's age, but note that cracks and patina are evident.

- Condition:Repaired: This is an antique Chinese wallpaper, applied at some point later to this four panel screen. When applied, the wallpaper was likely restored, with minor touch ups to the details. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. This screen is in good antique condition, It is structurally in good working order, with strong French hinges. The wallpaper has cracks, wear, minor chips and patina, commensurate with it s age.
