About the Item

A gorgeous four-panel Japanese Asian Byobu folding screen depicting a nature landscape scene with lotus leaves and blossoming spring flowers and two colorful kingfisher birds frolicking within the foliage. It is quite a wonderful composition. We believe this could a Chinese screen done in the Japanese Byobu fashion but the reverse could also be true The hand painted detail and vivid colors on the silver leaf really makes this piece quite an attractive work. Original decorative period brass hardware adds another wonderful touch. An eye catching work, this screen is sure to stand out in almost any setting whether used as a room divider or hung on the wall as a work of art.
