About the Item
A gorgeous four-panel Japanese/Chinese/Asian Byobu folding screen depicting a landscape scene with a flock of playful red crown cranes (likely Manchurian cranes), a flowing river, an embracing Japanese Pine tree and boldly colored blossoming Spring flowers. It is quite a wonderful composition.
We believe this is a Chinese screen done in the Japanese Byobu fashion but the reverse could also be true The hand painted detail and vivid colors make this piece quite an attractive work.
Set in a heavy black lacquered wood frame with original decorative period brass hardware that adds another wonderful touch.
An eye catching work, this screen is sure to stand out in almost any setting whether used as a room divider or hung on the wall as a work of art.
