Titled by the artist. This screen depicts a plum tree on rivers edge with a solitary nightingale. Mineral pigments on gold with silk brocade boarder and black lacquer trim with bronze hardware. Signature and seal read: Shimazaki Ryudo, Autumn 1931 Notes about the Artist: Nishinaka Shimazaki Ryudo (1865-1937) was a Japanese painter born in Tokyo. He studied Japanese painting under Matsumoto Fuko and Kawabata Gyokusho.
