Japanese two panel screen: Mother and Child at Bedtime. Showa period (1926 - 1989) painting by Hideo Naishou who was born in Kobe in 1918. Lovely scene of a mother putting her baby to sleep on a futon under mosquito netting. Wonderfully soft painting with beautiful details like feathers on the kimono and children's toys on the side. Soft pigments on silk with a wood frame.
