About the Item

A large scale candle screen by designer Jean Touret for his French company, Les Artisans de Marolles. The piece is part of his early work from the 1950's. This screen is particularly unique, showing highly detailed and expertly formed figures and various species of animals. Within the frames, the sculpture depicts a hunting excursion in the wild. Unlike many other scene's on his various screens, the human figures in this piece are equipped with various tools. This artwork is comprised entirely from wrought iron and has a uniform patina consistent with age. The screen is free standing but does have a slight tilt due to the age of the hand made feet. The corners of the feet have minor loss as shown in the photos. Dimensions: 75.25" H x 34.75" W x 2.5" D 14.5" Depth of the Feet at the Base
