The folding screen, with a long history that stretches over 1,000 years from the Three Kingdoms of Korea, is now considered to be a space divider that serves various functions including the presentation of spaces and decorative characteristics, thus moving beyond its original definition, which was to ward off the wind similar to fences and walls.
The picture of this folding screen is embroidered with a phoenix, which is an integral part of traditional auspicious patterns, and colorful foliage patterns. The different types and colors of mother of pearl also convey a sense of beauty fully realized through such delicate craftsmanship.
