A six-panel folding screen painted on silk depicting a spring garden. A Japanese six-panel folding screen painted on silk with a gold ground, depicting a spring garden. In the foreground, peonies (botan), irises (ayame), and other seasonal flowers bloom at the base of a large plum tree (ume), whose branches gracefully extend across the gilded surface. Signed and sealed in the lower right corner. A wooden frame completes and protects the work. Period: Meiji-Taishō period, early 20th century Dimensions: 173 × 377.5 cm Condition: The folding screen is in good condition, with minor signs of wear consistent with age. Slight fading and a few small holes along the joints are present.
