A Japanese six-panel screen painted on paper with gold powder, depicting a majestic tiger reclining in tall grass, emerging powerfully from the lightly suggested landscape in the background. The animal is rendered with great attention to the details of its coat, stripes, and expression, achieved through subtle layering and precise brushwork. A red lacquered wooden frame completes and protects the piece. Signed and sealed in the lower right corner. Period: Meiji, late 19th – early 20th century Dimensions: 147 × 369 cm Condition: The screen is in excellent condition, with light wear to the lacquered frame. Minor restorations or small imperfections consistent with age may be present.
