About the Item
A wonderful image tilted "Azalea Garden" by Hiroshi Yoshida (1876–1950) one of Japan's finest 20th century artist and one of, if not the greatest artist working in the Shin-Hanga art movement. Yoshida was the first in a long lineage of renowned family artist. His works can be found in numerous prominent museums and collections worldwide.
The original image of Azalea Garden was created in 1935 but this particular print appears to be a posthumous print (likely from the 1950s) as it lacks the Jizuri seal. It is signed (with graphite stamp in lower margin and ink with brush in image), titled and sealed with red "Hiroshi" seal within the image.
Would be a great addition to any Yoshida or Japanese/Asian art and print collection or make for an an eye-catching stand-alone accent artwork in about any setting.
The work has been matted and framed (likely in Japan as it has the wood backing.)
