About the Item
A carved Chinese soapstone water dropper, boat shaped receptacle with spout and handle, carved with trailing floral stems and a domed cover with a bird forming a finial. Late Qing/Republic period. The water dropper measures 6"-inches wide x 2 1/2"-inches high x 4"-inches deep.
Note: Water droppers, amongst other luxury objects, belonged to scholar's studio. With it, he could engage in the art of Calligraphy.
