His full, rounded face—typical of the Tang Dynasty style—bears downcast eyes beneath high-arched brows, flanked by elongated pendulous earlobes. The hair is neatly arranged in a chignon atop his head, exuding balance and dignity. His right hand is raised in the abhaya mudra, a gesture of reassurance and fearlessness, while his left hand holds a scepter, symbolizing a smooth journey. A long, flowing robe drapes gracefully over his form, cascading in soft folds around the tiered throne on which he sits. The facial expression radiates profound peace and kindness. Statue is with a beautiful aged patina, while the back reveals its origin as part of a mountain cave, lending it both authenticity and historical depth.

This carved stone stele depicts the historical Buddha, known also as Shaka, Shakyamuni, or Siddhartha Gautama. Seated in perpetual meditation, the Buddha embodies virtues of wisdom and composure. Hand-carved of limestone in the style of Northern Wei (386-535) statuary, the Buddha is depicted upon a lotus plinth with legs crossed in lotus position.
