Japanese Rosoku-tate or Shokudai (candle stand) a lathe turned wood in a slender baluster form with attached concave circular base and broad circular wood candle base tapering down to the slender neck, with metal pricket and disc (encrusted), original patina, old repaired split to base and stem otherwise fine condition. 17” high x 6-1/4” in diameter. Edo period, 17th century. Ex-Collectis: Beatrice Sandler, San Diego.
