This is a stunningly beautiful example of a large 19 inch wide old Asian rare natural red color viewing stone or garden/scholar rock in mountain shape form - formed by nature from a hard solid dark red stone ready for your garden or special indoor display gallery space.
Dimensions: 7 inches tall and 18 inches wide
These stones are known as viewing stones or scholar rocks, sometimes called spirit stones because of their sleek composition which evoke mountainous ranges and spiritual layers.
A beautiful example that is naturally occurring and the first from a small group thar we have seen.

About Suiseki and Gongshi Scholar and Viewing stones :
Suiseki (sui = water and seki= stone) is the Japanese name for naturally formed stones that have the power and beauty to suggest a scene from nature or object closely associated with nature. They are also known as "Viewing Stones' and Scholar Stones". Large scale stones may be found in Japanese gardens.
Gongshi are Chinese scholar's rocks- are naturally occurring or shaped rocks which are traditionally appreciated by Chinese scholars. and found in chinese gardens.
Scholars' rocks can be any color, and contrasting colors are not uncommon. The size of the stone can also be quite varied: scholars' rocks can weigh either hundreds of pounds or less than one pound.
Our gallery has been dealing in authentic Japanese , Chinese, and fine Asian art, garden ornaments, lanterns and water basins for 25 years. Our president personally travels to China, Japan and Europe each year to meet his network partners who assist him in finding best examples. He personally inspects each antique work of art to ensure its old age, authenticity and quality condition.
