A boxwood netsuke depicting Hotei with a karako inside his large sack, closed at the top with a knot. The god is shown with a smiling face and rounded body, while the exterior of the sack is decorated with gilt floral motifs. Himotoshi beneath the base. Period: Meiji, late 19th century. Dimensions: 3 × 3.8 × 2.8 cm. Condition: Excellent.
