Burmese Monk In Sculpted Wood Beginning 1900 Oriental sculpture made from a single piece of wood, wax restored with dark patina. The monk figure is presented sitting lotus position, Padmasana, with clasped hands. The posture with joined hands in a gesture of greeting, prayer or spiritual humility is quite common in Eastern contexts.
It comes from a private collection in Lombardy and is in good condition.
