About the Item
A finely carved and detailed seated wood temple shrine Buddha. Likely Northern Thai or lower Burmese.
This particular Buddha has a wonderful serene expression. He sits cross-legged in the Padmasana or lotus pose and the offering in his hand is likely a lotus pod or piece of fruit.
A rather special work overall and one of our favorites. The piece radiates wellness. Would make for a great addition to any Asian art or artifacts collection or eye-catching stand-alone accent piece in about any setting.
