Japan, an old early 20th century hand-carved stone image of a "Joyfuil Ebisu" one of Japan's seven lucky gods signifying prosperity, good business, and patron of fishermen, circa 1920. He sits upon an outcrop wearing his notable hat and clutching his prize fish. This image was clearly hand-carved in mingei Folk Art style for a special client s display and possibly the garden. It is the first we have seen in this style and would make eye appealing decor in your garden or home and maybe bring you greater prosperity. hand-carved. One-of-a-kind Only one. History: Ebisu is the god of prosperity and wealth in business, and of abundance in crops, cereals and food in general; the patron of fishermen and therefore is represented with fishermen's costumes such as a typical hat, a fishing rod in his right hand and a fish. Our gallery has been dealing in authentic Japanese , Chinese, and fine Asian art, garden ornaments, lanterns and water basins for 25 years. The president personally travels to China, Japan and Europe each year to meet his network partners who assist him in finding best examples. He personally inspects each antique work of art to ensure its old age, authenticity and quality condition. We are members of NAJGA- North American Japanese Garden Association.
