An old early 20th century granite stone "Crowned" Buddha - Shyaka Nyorai Sakyamuni- sculpture with staff and "Hoju" the wish granting jewel in her left hand, the whole perched upon a signed and carved base.

In Japan, Kṣitigarbha, known as Sakyamuni is a sage of the Sakyas- among the most loved of all Japanese divinities. His statues can be found installed in many private shrines.
This handsome hand carved example is sculpted from solid dark to medium granite stone, still retains much of its fine details and and dates to the early 20th century.
Its a good garden candidate with an authentic and sublime spiritual aura with original white old Japan garden lichen .
Fine condition with overall softening of the lines and contours. Handsomely weathered from appropriate age.
Dimensions: 25 inches tall and 8.5 inches wide
