An early and hard to find Japanese large 30" tall scale hand carved stone Jizo holding his staff of compassion.
Signed on both sides in kanji
He has been beautifully hand-sculpted from a grey-hued hard stone and now has use wear from great age.
Age: Edo period, 18th/19th century
Condition: old patina.
An excellent garden or indoor sculptural choice with a genuine spiritual presence.
Handmade and hand carved with a subtle and attractive patina appropriate for its age.
Dimensions: 30 inches tall and 13 inches wide
